Meeting was called to order at 19:50 with 22 present.

Ronnie welcomed all to the SFFMA meeting. The meeting was being broadcast live on the air tonight from the fire boardroom at the EOC.

The microphone was passed around the room and everyone stated their name and call sign.

Repeater update:

Ray spoke about the 444.200 and the 146.76 were up and running. He mentioned the interference from the Hialeah station. It is a building on Red Road. With our temperature and humidity, the noise occurs every fall.

Robert said the 224.200 was up and running but no one will talk to him.

The minutes of the last meeting were accepted by Caesar and seconded by Lloyd.

The annual pizza party that took place last meeting was a success. We did not have our annual winter field day in November and we may do something after February.

Old business:

A reminder that Saturday is our annual Holiday Dinner, December 13, 2003 from 6:30 P.M. to 9:30 P.M. It will take place here at the EOC, 9300 N.W. 41 Street. It will cost $7.00 for adults and $5.00 for children, and must be paid in advance. Because of the problems we had last year, will not accept payment at the door. You can pay tonight. This is the cut-off date. Approximately 25 people have already signed up and paid. If you are interested, see Ronnie after the meeting. Ray will be in charge of the holiday music via satellite.

The Kayak race was discussed. Ray showed a slide show of pictures. It took place on November 22. Adam did all pictures. You can view them on the website, go to events, Kayak race 2003.

Joanne brought us up to date with CERT. Anyone interested, please contact Cleopatria at 305-468-5416. Ray announced that Joanne is the CERT Amateur Radio Operator point person/contact for amateur radio in CERT. Ray is going to take a less active roll.

Ernesto reported on the Bike-A-Thon. There are going to be new turns and he would like a Ham operator at each turn. The goal for sponsors has been met. They are behind in rider sign-ups maybe because of other events in the State. We are the naming sponsor and the presenting sponsor. If you are interested, contact Ernesto.

Randy spoke about the March of Dimes walk-a-thon since Wendy could not be here tonight. It will take place April 3, the first Saturday in April. The route should be the same.

The upcoming Miami Tropical Marathon to be held on February 1st, a Sunday, was discussed. Felipe and Arturo passed a list around for anyone interested to sign up. They need 30 communicators, one for every mile. It is to start downtown Miami by the Inter Continental Hotel and go to Miami Beach. Information is on the internet. Everyone will be picked-up by 12:30 P.M. if you like it or not.
